Super Eagles defender Benjamin Fredrick is in line to make his competitive debut for Brentford in tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Reading.
Fredrick joined Brentford on loan from Simoiben Football Academy in August 2023.
The deal was turned into a permanent transfer in April 2024, with the defender signing a four-year contract.
The 21-year-old has been included in the Bees’ matchday squad twice in the past.
Brentford manager Keith Andrews confirmed Fredrick will feature against Reading.
“He (Fredrick) hasn’t had a lot of football. We decided not to play him yesterday (Sunday) in the B team game to make sure he was in the right place to be available (today),” Andrews told a press conference.
“I anticipate he’ll be involved.”
Fredrick spent last season on loan with Belgian club Dender EH.
He sustained an injury while on international duty with Nigeria last November, which forced him to miss the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
