A new political movement Change Front, is set to unveil its manifesto called ‘The Salvation’, on Friday at the YMCA in Kanifing.
The 100-page document outlines the political movement’s doctrine, economic models and sectoral priorities.
The launch is expected to bring together members of the public, political stakeholders, civil society organisations, journalists, members of the diplomatic and development communities, as well as representatives of the Gambian diaspora.
According to the movement the manifesto also proposes two economic transformation models one designed for the short term and another for the long term.
Beyond the economy, the manifesto addresses several key sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, security, energy, local government administration, diaspora affairs, land management and allocation, gender equality and broader economic development.
The October 2 launch is expected to provide an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to scrutinise the proposals, raise questions and engage in discussion about the policies contained in The Salvation.
The Change Front said it hopes the manifesto will contribute to public discussion and informed debate on the country’s development priorities.
