No fewer than 1,000 women in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have benefited from an empowerment programme organized by the Women Wing of the City Boy Movement, CBM, as the group reaffirmed support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The large-scale empowerment initiative, organized by the FCT Chapter of the City Boy Movement Women Wing under the Office of the National Coordinator for Women Affairs, was aimed at boosting economic activities among women, promoting grassroots mobilization and enhancing community participation in governance.

Speaking during the event, the National Coordinator for Women Affairs of the Women Wing, Hon. Ummusalma Rabiu, described women empowerment as a critical tool for sustainable national development, poverty reduction and economic growth.

She noted that women remain key stakeholders in grassroots mobilization, voter education, democratic participation, and national development.

According to the FCT Women Affairs Coordinator, Dr. Ene Adugba, who hosted the empowerment programme, said the initiative was designed to support vulnerable and enterprising women economically while also creating awareness on the policies and achievements of President Tinubu’s administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Adugba stated that the administration had continued to pursue reforms and strategic interventions aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy despite prevailing socio-economic challenges.

Also speaking, the National Principal Secretary of the Women Wing said the Tinubu administration had demonstrated political will through reforms targeted at economic stabilization, infrastructure development, social intervention programmes, youth and women empowerment, food security and improved investment opportunities.

The group highlighted what it described as achievements of the administration, including increased investments in infrastructure and transportation, expanded student loan programmes, support for agriculture, improved security coordination and policies aimed at job creation and enterprise development.

Beneficiaries at the event received empowerment items and support packages to strengthen small businesses, improve household income and encourage self-reliance.

The cordinator of the FCT Women Wing Ene Adugba, also used the occasion to reaffirm commitment to mobilizing support for President Tinubu’s re-election, stressing the need for continuity in governance and sustained implementation of ongoing reforms.

According to the group, continuity would help consolidate gains already recorded in critical sectors such as infrastructure, security, agriculture, education, youth development and economic revitalization.

The organization further called on women, youths and other stakeholders to support initiatives that promote peace, unity, democratic participation and national development.
