Cristiano Ronaldo’s World Cup records as he retires

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Cristiano Ronaldo appears to create history wherever he competes, and the recent tournament was no different.

The 41-year-old forward achieved a notable milestone during this summer’s event.

He became one of only three players to participate in six editions of the World Cup, joining the ranks of Lionel Messi and Guillermo Ochoa.

By scoring against Uzbekistan, he made history as the first player ever to find the net in six different World Cup tournaments.

Ronaldo’s goal against Croatia in the Round of 32 also established him as the oldest player to score in a World Cup knockout match.

He concludes his World Cup journey with a total of 11 goals in 27 appearances across six tournaments.

Ronaldo has already confirmed that this World Cup would be his ‘last dance’.

The Portuguese crashed out in the Round of Sixteen to Spain on Monday night, ending the 41-year-old’s hopes of winning the World Cup.
