Democracy can only be sustained when entrusted to accountable leadership – Okah …As Otti support group holds rally in Abia UDOKA AGWU, UMUAHIA A pro-Alex Otti Support Group known as Alex Otti 4+4 Movement 2027 has held Pre–Democracy Day rally ahead of June 12 Day, Umuahia, Abia State capital, on theme “Sustaining the New Abia and Deepening Democracy”. Chibueze Daniel Okah, chairman of the rally, in speech at Okpara Square, Umuahia, said that the banner of Alex Otti 4+4 Movement was not merely democracy but evidence of the visible evidence that democracy can work when entrusted to competent, visionary and accountable leadership. He noted that June 12 has been set aside to celebrate the triumph of the people’s will, sacrifice of our heroes, and enduring journey towards a more democratic, just and prosperous. Okah said that three years ago, the people of Abia made a bold decision, noting that they voted for hope and for transparency. “Today the hope has been translated into immeasurable progress across our state. “Under the leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, Abia has witnessed unprecedented transformation in infrastructure, education, health-care, security, environmental sanitation, and public service reforms,” Okah stated. He also said that public institutions are regaining efficiency, and investors are returning with confidence, and governance has been restored. He enjoined people of Abia to prepare for 2027 elections. He encouraged ever eligible citizen to and safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards, adding that remains the powerful instrument of democracy. The group marched across major streets of Umuahia.
