Deregistration: ADC demands arrest of judge who gave judgment

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has called for the arrest of Justice Peter Lifu, who gave the judgment that deregistered the ADC and four other political parties.

Abdullahi made this call on Monday during a live appearance in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Recall that Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately deregister the ADC, Accord Party and others from participating in the 2027 general elections.

Reacting, the ADC mouthpiece said, “Justice Lifu should be arrested. The Appeal Court said he should not act until the case is heard on October 27.

“The judge is acting in contempt of court, which is a criminal act. What basis did they deliver the judgment?

“So, for us in the African Democratic Congress, what we are convinced that they know is that what they have done has no leg to stand on,” Abdullahi said.
