The Edo State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed a bill repealing the Edo State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Law, 2019, paving the way for the establishment of the Edo State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology.
The bill was passed after a clause-by-clause consideration by the Committee of the Whole House. Following the adoption of the committee’s report, the Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku, directed the Clerk to transmit clean copies of the bill to Governor Monday Okpebholo for assent.
The new law provides for the establishment of the institution, its commencement date, the composition of its Governing Council, the membership and functions of its Academic Board, financial provisions, and other matters relating to the administration of the college.
