Ekiti 2026: Nigeria’s democracy reduced to vote trading – PDP

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says Nigeria’s democracy has reduced to buying of votes.

Spokesperson for the party in Ekiti State, Atofarati Sanya, made this allegation in an interview on Arise Television on Saturday night.

He was reacting to the 2026 Ekiti state governorship election which took place across the state on Saturday.

The state PDP mouthpiece also alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its members were seen trading votes.

“Democracy in Nigeria is now reduced to trading of votes as against the electoral act.

“What we have witnessed in Ekiti state is sad and unfortunate.  APC was at the polling units unchecked.

“It’s unfortunate security authorities were present and could not checkmate these abnormalities,” he said.
