Ekiti 2026: Yiaga Africa releases report on voter turn out

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Yiaga Africa has expressed concern regarding the low voter turnout for the Ekiti governorship election that took place on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

The election monitoring organization indicated that its preliminary estimates suggest that the turnout for this election ranged from 34.0% to 38.1%, based on data it gathered from polling units utilizing the Process and Results Verification for Transparency (PRVT) election observation methodology.

Consequently, Yiaga stated, “If INEC’s official turnout aligns with WTV’s estimated range, it accurately reflects the turnout of voters at polling units. These estimates are derived from reports from 246 to 250 (98%) sampled polling units in Ekiti State.”

Yiaga Africa noted that it utilized the Process and Results Verification for Transparency, PRVT, methodology and deployed 250 observers along with 22 mobile observers throughout all 16 local government areas, LGAs, in addition to 16 LGA results collation observers.
