ADO-EKITI — The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the June 20, 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, says he is consulting with the leadership of the party and his legal team before deciding his next course of action following the outcome of the poll.

Oluyede made this known in a statement titled “A Message of Gratitude, Hope and Commitment to the People of Ekiti State,” in which he thanked residents who supported his governorship bid.

He expressed appreciation to party supporters and voters, saying the official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which credited the PDP with 40,543 votes, had not diminished his gratitude to those who remained committed to the party during the election.

According to him, the level of support received during the campaign reflected the commitment of many Ekiti residents to good governance and democratic participation.

Oluyede also criticised some unnamed politicians whom he said had previously benefited from the PDP but later declared the party politically irrelevant in Ekiti State.

He maintained that the election showed the PDP remained active and retained significant support across the state.

The former governorship candidate said his campaign was driven by the commitment of ordinary Ekiti residents despite the absence of support from serving or former governors and other influential political figures.

He added that he would continue to pursue the interests of the people of Ekiti State.

Oluyede said any decision regarding the outcome of the election would be taken after extensive consultations with the PDP leadership and members of his legal team.

He also stressed that all post-election actions would be guided by respect for democratic institutions and due process.

He assured his supporters that their sacrifices would not be in vain and promised to continue advocating for the interests of the state. “Our future can still be written in gold,” he said.
