Electricity restored in two states as TCN repairs Kainji-Birnin Kebbi Transmission Line

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Electricity supply has been restored to parts of North-West Nigeria, including Kebbi and Sokoto States, after the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN restored power to its 330-kilovolt Kainji-Birnin Kebbi Single Circuit Transmission Line nearly a month after the electricity disruption.

TCN disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

The Federal Government agency noted that power was restored to the line for take-off by the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company on Thursday at about 5:24 p.m.

“The line was restored at 5:24 p.m. today, 1 October 2026, following the erection of an Emergency Restoration System, ERS tower at the tower location in Yauri,” TCN stated.

DAILY POST reports that the TCN facility was taken out of service following the collapse of Tower 367 on 7 September 2026.
