Enugu state-owned airline, Enugu Air, has concluded plans to introduce direct flights between Enugu and Douala, Cameroon.
The service, which would operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Wednesdays, would enable passengers from Lagos and Abuja to connect via Enugu.
Speaking on the development, Chief Operating Officer of Enugu Air, Mr Ugonna Agubuokwu, said the new route was designed to bring businesses, families and opportunities closer together.
Agubuokwu said: “This is more than the introduction of a new route. It is about creating stronger connections between Nigeria and Cameroon, and making regional travel more accessible, convenient and seamless for our passengers.”
According to him, “flights from Enugu are scheduled to depart at 12:45 p.m., arriving in Douala at 1:45 p.m. The return service will depart Douala at 2:30 p.m., arriving in Enugu at 3:30 p.m. The timing is such that passengers can connect from Lagos and Abuja. For business, for opportunity, and for the connections that matter, Africa is closer than you think.”
The new Enugu-Douala connection further reinforces Enugu Air’s ambition to make regional travel simpler and more connected.
