China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has rescued four victims trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building on Ogbalu Street, Independence Layout, Enugu State.
The Chinese construction company mobilised heavy-duty equipment and professional personnel to support rescue operations following the collapse earlier this week.
CCCC deployed excavators, payloaders and other equipment to the scene to assist in the search for trapped victims, remove debris and support safety assessment of the affected area.
Speaking with journalists after the rescue operation, the company’s Project Manager, Jin Haibing, said four people were successfully rescued from the collapsed structure.
Haibing said the intervention was aimed at supporting ongoing rescue efforts and ensuring that available resources were deployed to assist those affected by the incident.
He said CCCC, which has operated in Nigeria’s infrastructure sector for several years, remained committed to supporting local communities and contributing to the wellbeing and development of Nigerians.
According to him, the company’s prompt response underscored its concern for the safety and welfare of residents in communities where it operates.
Haibing said the intervention also reflected the spirit of friendship, solidarity and mutual support that had characterised relations between Nigeria and China.
CCCC has been involved in several infrastructure projects in Nigeria and said it had consistently emphasised cooperation with local communities and partners in its operations.
The company said it would continue to strengthen its engagement with communities and stakeholders across the country through practical interventions and closer cooperation.
It added that such efforts were aimed at supporting local development while promoting stronger people-to-people relations between Nigeria and China.
CCCC reaffirmed its commitment to deploying its expertise, resources and experience to support communities and contribute to the development of Nigerian cities and infrastructure.
