EPL: Chelsea announce departure of four players from Stamford Bridge

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Chelsea officially announced on Wednesday that four of their players will depart Stamford Bridge when their current contracts expire at the end of June.

A statement released by the Premier League West London club Wednesday, named the palyers as Brodi Hughes, Richard Olise, Jimi Tauriainen and Sam Rak-Sakyi.

Hughes, a defender, joined Chelsea as an Under-8, 13 years ago and moved through the ranks at Cobham.

Olise, on his part, joined Chelsea as an Under-9 and featured throughout the age groups in the Academy. He was named in the first-team squad for the UEFA Conference League trip to Astana during the 2024/25 season.

Similarly, Tauriainen was signed by Chelsea in 2020 and was named among the first-team substitutes during Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool in 2024.

Finally, Rak-Sakyi joined Chelsea’s Academy as an eight-year-old and made four senior appearances.
