Former Barcelona striker, Gary Lineker has pinpointed one major problem Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso needs to address at the club.
According to Lineker, Alonso needs to work on the Blues’ defensive issues to succeed at Stamford Bridge.
Alonso was appointed Chelsea’s new head coach at the end of last season.
Alonso’s men have played seven games across competitions, winning four, losing two and drawing one.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker said, “The basis of any successful team is to have a solid defence.
“You can’t score three or four in every game. That is something Alonso needs to address. He will be given plenty of time, I would hope.”
