EPL: Guardiola mocks Man Utd for celebrating Champions League qualification

Daily Post 5 days 1 mins read

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has mocked Manchester United for celebrating their qualification for next season’s Champions League.

United beat Liverpool 2-1 last Sunday, to ensure they will finish in the top five places at least.

It marks a return to Europe’s elite competition for the Red Devils, who did not play on the continent this season.

Guardiola has boasted that City sealed their qualification for the Champions League with games to spare.

He said: “We are in the (FA Cup) final and Champions League qualification four or five fixtures before.

“Look how happy Manchester United are after they qualified in the last game.

“Was their last game Brentford? No, Liverpool. They won the point that they needed, so at the end it’s a big test.”
