EPL: I have clear conscience over Man City’s guilty verdict – Arteta

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has insisted that his conscience is clear following Manchester City’s guilty verdict.

Arteta worked as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at the Etihad during those now-tainted seasons.

He spent three-and-a-half years from 2016 to 2019, the first two seasons of which fell inside the period under investigation by the Premier League.

Arteta was still at City when Der Spiegel released the leaked documents on City’s finances, as well as when UEFA and the Premier League launched their investigations.

During his press conference on Friday, the Spaniard refused to reveal if he had spoken to Guardiola after the verdict was made public.

But when asked if his conscience remained clear. “Yes,” was his short response.
