Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has criticised the club’s board over two transfer mistakes during the summer window.
Rooney believes the club’s hierarchy has left manager Michael Carrick “short” by not signing a new striker and a left-back.
Man United only focused on bolstering Carrick’s midfield options during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils bought Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba.
Speaking on Stick to United, Rooney said, “United lack a No. 9, so for whatever reason, Sesko is not fully fit; he missed pre-season.
“Luke is not going to play every game, Dalot and Mazraoui coming on at left-back, again, we are seeing too many players in unfamiliar positions for them. And I think that is where the club should have gone out and gotten players to help.
“But you want a squad of players who are going to compete, and I think Michael has been left short on that.”
