Chibuike Nwaiwu has been handed a two-match ban after receiving a red card in the first leg of Trabzonspor’s UEFA Europa League playoff tie against Ferencváros, DAILY POST reports.
Ferencváros won the tie 1-0, with Kristoffer Zachariassen scoring the decisive goal in the 17th minute.
Nwaiwu was sent off in the closing stages of the keenly contested encounter.
The Nigeria international will now miss the second leg at the Ferencváros Stadion on Thursday night (today).
The centre-back will also be suspended for the matchday one fixture should Trabzonspor proceed to the group stage.
Nwaiwu has been a regular feature for the Black Sea Storm since his arrival at the club from Austrian outfit Wolfsberger AC in January.
The 23-year-old has made two league appearances for Trabzonspor this season.
