ABUJA — THE First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged fathers to continue their essential role in shaping the next generation.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu in her message to mark the 2026 Father’s Day celebration, said fathers play critical role in the character and shaping the future of their children.

Her message read: “On this Father’s Day 2026, we celebrate the love, strength, and sacrifice of fathers across Nigeria and around the world.

“Fathers play a vital role in shaping the character, confidence, and future of their children. Through their guidance, protection, and dedication, fathers help build strong families and stronger communities.

“Today, we honour all fathers, father-figures, role models, and mentors who show up each day, working to provide for their families.

“May you continue to be a source of wisdom, strength, and inspiration to your families.”

The message comes as many Nigerians observe the holiday with family gatherings, church services, and public events, reflecting on the social and cultural importance of fatherhood in a country grappling with economic and security challenges.

By elevating the role of fathers, Senator Tinubu’s remarks spotlight the quiet but critical contribution of family leaders to national resilience and social cohesion.
