Competing in the men’s -73 kg division at the SEC Centre, Njie faced an early test against England’s Ethan Nairne in a fiercely contested bout. Although halted in the semi-finals by Nairne, Njie demonstrated exemplary composure to transition into the repechage rounds.
In the bronze medal match, Njie squared off against Scotland’s Oliver Short.
