On Wednesday, August 26th, Fedash Consultancy Limited proudly sponsored and organised a memorable campus tour for 34 African teenagers at the University of Sunderland.
This initiative offered an exclusive glimpse into the university’s state-of-the-art facilities and aimed to inspire and motivate young minds to pursue higher education and explore future career pathways.
The event began with teenagers from diverse African backgrounds arriving at Sir Tom Cowie Campus from 9:45 a.m., with the tour commencing promptly at 10:00 a.m.
Fedash Consultancy’s dedicated team, in collaboration with university staff, managed the smooth flow of activities, guiding the students through impressive sites including the Moot Court at the Reg Vardy Centre, the TV studio, cinema, Spark Radio, and the Podcast Room—all within the David Putnam Media Centre. By midday, the group moved to the City Campus, visiting key facilities such as the Living Lab, the mock pharmacy dispensary, Helen McArdle House, the Sports and Exercise Lab, the Anatomy Centre, and the School of Medicine.
Fedash Consultancy’s support extended beyond logistics; the organization coordinated communication with parents and guardians, handled registration, and managed transportation arrangements. The company also ensured that the teenagers and staff enjoyed meals and drinks at the end of the tour, creating a comfortable and engaging environment for all participants.
The tour concluded with inspiring presentations in the Teal Room at the Murray Health Building, where university academics, including Dr. Olugbenga Oyeniyi from the School of Medicine, shared their personal academic journeys and inspiring stories to motivate the young attendees. The teenagers had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers through questions and discussions, making the experience both motivating and educational.
Director of Fedash Consultancy Limited, Mrs. Hannah Oyeniyi, expressed her excitement about the success of the event. “Empowering young people and inspiring them to pursue higher education aligns perfectly with our company’s vision,” she stated. “We are proud to have sponsored this initiative and to support the community by providing opportunities for these teenagers to explore their future possibilities.” She recounted how her time at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, inspired her to focus on youth development as she believes they are the leaders of tomorrow. Mrs. Hannah Oyeniyi earned her BSc Degree in Microbiology in 2010 before pursuing a Master’s Degree in Biomedicine at the University of Portsmouth, UK.
The event was hailed as a tremendous success, with positive feedback pouring in from parents and participants alike. Many expressed eagerness for similar future initiatives, recognizing the valuable role Fedash Consultancy played in bringing this vision to life.
