FG set to conclude paramilitary recruitment in 4 weeks

By Omeiza Ajayi

ABUJA: The Federal Government has announced that the ongoing paramilitary recruitment process into the four services in the Ministry of Interior will be concluded within four weeks, assuring candidates across the country that their patience will be rewarded.

“The recruitment process has taken place, and it has now reached its last stages, which will be completed within four weeks. Once this process is completed, candidates will be informed via the recruitment platform at the following web address: https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng,” government said on Friday.

In the statement issued in Abuja, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board CDCFIB, Maj. Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (retd), acknowledged the tremendous amount of anticipation surrounding the recruitment exercise, noting that the large volume of applications received nationwide placed on it the responsibility of ensuring a comprehensive, just and transparent selection process.

He said; “The large number of applications received across the country places upon the board the duty of ensuring that there is a comprehensive, just, and transparent selection into the services, both on the part of the applicants and the processes involved.”

The Board explained that while it was mindful of the anxiety trailing the exercise, it would not compromise the integrity of the process for the sake of speed, stressing that the recruitment must reflect the principles of justice, merit, federal character and due process, while meeting the operational requirements of the four services.

According to the statement, “It is the intention of the CDCFIB not to rush the entire recruitment process, but to bring it to completion without any prejudice to the principles of justice, merit, federal character, due process, and the operational requirements of the four services.”

The CDCFIB thanked all candidates for their patience throughout the process and reassured them that the wait would ultimately be worthwhile.

“We sincerely thank all candidates for their patience and we assure the public that the candidates’ patience shall surely be rewarded,” the statement added.
