Gbajabiamila: Launch unbiased investigation into PFIPC – Ex IPAC chair, Ameh to NASS, EFCC

A former National Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Peter Ameh has urged the National Assembly, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and other anti-graft agencies to immediately launch a full-scale and unbiased investigation to unravel the truth about the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC. 

Ameh made the call in a press release, on Friday, warning that Nigerians are watching the unfolding drama and deserve to know the truth.

Recall that days ago, a non existent agency, known as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC was uncovered to be syphoning funds from the federal government coffers, with President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, named as a beneficiary in the scheme. 

The agency headed by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, which reportedly had an office space at the federal secretariat in Abuja and a budget line in the 2026 appropriation, was declared non-existent by the federal government. 

Ameh, however, wants the National Assembly and anti-corruption agencies to investigate the matter without bias and delay. 

He also called on Gbajabiamila to resign from office with immediate effect, maintaining that the process implicates multiple high-level actors across the Presidency, the Budget Office of the Federation, and the National Assembly. 

He added that all the people mentioned in the scandal must be investigated and probed. 

Ameh in the statement said, “According to available information, the 2026 Budget Call Circular issued by the Budget Office of the Federation was directed to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), not individual or private citizens. Yet, someone within the Presidency inserted this agency into the budget proposal. This proposal was subsequently defended by the Presidency during bilateral discussions with the Budget Office, approved by the Federal Executive Council, reviewed by the relevant National Assembly Committee, and defended before the National Assembly. It received approval based on the presented mandate and was forwarded for presidential assent. 

“This process implicates multiple high-level actors across the Presidency, the Budget Office of the Federation, and the National Assembly, raising serious questions that demand immediate answers. The involvement of such a high budget allocation through established governmental channels points to what appears to be a criminal conspiracy at the highest levels of governance.

“In light of these grave allegations touching on the office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, I call on him to immediately resign his position and others too should also resign from office immediately. 

“I urge the National Assembly, anti-corruption agencies, and all relevant authorities to launch a full-scale, unbiased investigation into this matter without delay. The people of Nigeria are watching.”
