Geoplex Drillteq Limited, a leading oilfield services company, has won the 2026 Indigenous Service Company Award presented by the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN).
The award was presented to the company at the ongoing OGTAN annual conference held at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State, under the theme ‘Empowering People. Driving Performance. Shaping the Future of the Oil & Gas.’
The event brought together oil and gas professionals, service companies, trainers and industry experts to discuss human capital development and the future of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
It also recognised energy professionals, trainers and organisations contributing to human capital development in the sector.

Speaking at the event, OGTAN President, Chris Osarunmewense, commended Geoplex Drillteq for its commitment to the development of Nigeria’s indigenous oilfield services industry.
Osarunmewense said the conference was the first in a series of engagements aimed at exploring how stakeholders could sustain and develop the workforce needed to deliver on the potential of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
He said the gathering provided an opportunity for stakeholders to step away from their individual organisations and professional responsibilities and come together around a shared interest—the people who power Nigeria’s energy industry and the capabilities required to take the sector into the future.
The OGTAN president also used golf as a metaphor for human capital development, noting that the game requires preparation, discipline, concentration, patience, strategy and continuous improvement.
According to him, success does not come from one perfect shot but from consistently making sound decisions, learning from mistakes and continuously improving.
He congratulated all participants and the winners of the awards, stressing that everyone who took part had contributed to strengthening the relationships and professional community supporting the conference.
Osarunmewense also explained the significance of holding the event in Warri, describing the city as an important part of the history of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
He noted that the Niger Delta has for decades remained at the heart of the country’s petroleum industry, with the region’s history closely linked to petroleum exploration and production, processing, oilfield services, technical manpower and community development.
According to him, Warri represents an important intersection of industry, technical capability, communities, institutions and human capital, making it a fitting location for discussions on the future of Nigeria’s energy workforce.
