“Give Tinubu More Time To Fix Nigeria” — Actor Jide Kosoko Tells Nigerians

InformationNG 1 day 2 mins read

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stressing that the President should not be judged before the full impact of his policies and reforms can be assessed.

Speaking in an interview with FeelrightnewsTV, Kosoko compared governing a nation to constructing a building, saying no one can fairly evaluate a project before it is completed.

“If you are building a house, you cannot assess such a building and give it a pass mark until the building is completed,” he said.

The veteran actor noted that Tinubu, like every human being, is not flawless.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not God. That means he cannot be perfect,” Kosoko stated.

He also alleged that critics of the administration were influencing public opinion, particularly among young Nigerians.

“Let me tell you, what those opposing Tinubu are projecting for you to say is what you will be saying. What they have crafted that they want you to carry in your head is what you will carry,” he said.

Addressing Gen Z, he added: “They know you, Gen Z. You are easy to manipulate and control. Once they control you, you will all go on overdrive.”

Kosoko further claimed that some activists criticising the government were not as independent as they appeared.

“The so-called activists, we know how they take money from government but come out to influence citizens. But when we talk, they accuse us of taking money to support the government. As if we don’t have a mind of our own, as if we don’t have family members suffering or as if we are enjoying well,” he said.

While acknowledging the economic hardship many Nigerians are experiencing, the actor argued that handing out cash to citizens is not a realistic solution given the country’s population. He urged Nigerians to exercise patience and allow the administration’s reforms more time to produce results.
