Glasgow 2026: Amusan blames injury for 100m hurdles title loss

Tobi Amusan has blamed injury for her failure to successfully defend her women’s 100m hurdles title at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The world record holder crossed the finish line in 12.60s to finish third in the final on Thursday night.

Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton won gold in 12.33s, while Jamaica’s Megan Simmons was second in 12.41s.

DAILY POST recalls Amusan won gold in the event at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, and Birmingham respectively.

Amusan revealed after the race that she suffered an injury in training which affected her performance.

“I had a pretty bad fall at training camp, so I’ve been a bit concerned about my knee coming into this meet. But I’m just thankful I was able to hold it together and get on the podium once again,” Amusan revealed.
