Danladi Ya’u, former Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC in Gombe State, has officially resigned from the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
He announced his defection on Monday in a resignation letter addressed to the ADC ward chairmen of Kwado, Kiji, and Kurba.
According to him, he decided to step down from his position because he believes in the PDP governorship candidate and former Nigerian minister, Professor Isa Ali Pantami.
“I hereby formally resign from my position as the former State Chairman and currently serving as State Auditor of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Gombe State Chapter, and also resign my membership of the party with immediate effect.
“I have defected to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to support the candidature of Prof. Isa Ali Pantami in the 2027 governorship race,” he stated in his resignation letter.
