Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved an extention of a one day off duty work palliative, as well as payment of N10,000 special transport allowance from the month July to September, 2026, for some of its workforce in the state.
This was contained in a circular signed by the State Head of Service, HoS, Olanrewaju Saka on Thursday.
In the circular, the HoS urged the workforce to optimize the arrangement without compromising service delivery, adding that measures are meant to cushion additional burden faced by the workforce in commuting to work and to also motivate them to deliver efficient and excellent service.
The circular stated that the Governor had earlier approved the gesture from April to June this year, due to increase in pump price of petrol.
It clarified that the one day off work gesture, does not extend to officers running shifts, personnel on essential service duties, such as Medical personnel, Judicial service workers, teaching and non-teaching staff in primary, secondary and tertiary Institutions, security officers, political office holders, accounting officers, directors as well as other officers receiving Special Responsibility Allowances due to additional obligations, which require their physical presence.
