Gov Bago Swears In Six New Commissioners

Channels TV about 2 hours 1 mins read

Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has sworn in six newly appointed commissioners with a charge to discharge their responsibilities diligently and put the interest of the state above personal considerations.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Minna, where the Chief Magistrate I, Murtala Ibrahim, administered the oath of office and oath of allegiance to the new commissioners.

Governor Bago urged the commissioners to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their duties and ensure that their ministries contribute meaningfully to the development agenda of his administration.

The governor disclosed that permanent secretaries in the respective ministries had been directed to provide the new commissioners with detailed briefings and reports on the activities and programmes of their ministries.

He directed the commissioners to resume work immediately and acquaint themselves with the responsibilities and ongoing programmes of their respective ministries.

Governor Bago had earlier assigned portfolios to the six newly appointed commissioners.

The appointments followed the resignation of six members of the State Executive Council who stepped down to pursue their political ambitions in the forthcoming elective contests.
