Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Chief Barr. Lucky Chukwu, a Special Assistant to Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah, is dead.

His death was announced by his younger brother, Senator Kelvin Chukwu, who represents Enugu East Senatorial District.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, October 11, 2026, by the senator’s Head of Media, Amb. Dr. Ogomegbunam Success Nwoye, the lawmaker described the deceased as an astute public servant and politician.

The statement said the death had left the Chukwu family traumatised, adding that Senator Kelvin Chukwu had suspended all political activities and engagements for one week to mourn his elder brother.

“Senator Chukwu, who is mourning his elder brother, has therefore cancelled all his political activities/engagements for a week,” the statement read.

The senator also called on the people of Enugu East Senatorial District to join his family in mourning the deceased, whom the statement described as an “erudite son of Nkanuland.”

The statement concluded with a prayer for the repose of the deceased’s soul.

“May God rest the soul of Chief Lucky Chukwu,” it added.
