Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Jigawa State governor, Umar Namadi, has signed a N63.478 billion supplementary appropriation bill into law for the state and its 27 local government councils.

The supplementary provision raises the state’s 2026 budget from N901.841 billion to N948.210 billion, while the combined budgets of the 27 local governments rise from N288.848 billion to N305.957 billion.

The state component of the supplementary appropriation is N46.369 billion, while N17.109 billion is allocated to the 27 local government councils.

The governor signed the supplementary appropriation after the Jigawa State House of Assembly passed the 2026 Budget Review and Supplementary Appropriation Bill following consideration of 186 recommendations.

The Assembly said the additional funds would be allocated to various ministries, departments and agencies to strengthen the implementation of government programmes and projects, with emphasis on agriculture and education.

Presenting the bill, the Majority Leader and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Lawan Muhammad Dansure, said the budget review included an additional revenue estimate of N24.653 billion and N49.878 billion in savings to be reallocated to various budget lines.
