The wife of Delta State content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, widely known as Odogwu of Asaba, has spoken publicly about the allegations against her husband, insisting that he did not rape 20-year-old Favour Agbro.
In a video shared on the content creator’s TikTok page on Wednesday, the woman, whose identity was not disclosed, said her husband had an affair with Favour but denied that the relationship involved rape.
Her comments come amid an ongoing police investigation into allegations surrounding Favour, who died after ingesting a toxic substance.
Ogbonna, 40, was arrested by the Delta State Police Command following allegations that he sexually assaulted Favour.
The police alleged that Favour was invited to Asaba after Ogbonna offered to teach her how to create and monetise content on social media.
According to the command, he later took her to a hotel, where he allegedly raped and physically assaulted her.
Rejecting the allegation, Ogbonna’s wife said she was certain her husband was not responsible for the alleged rape.
“Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband…. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl.”
She continued, “He cannot rape, he has never. Even when he did not have fame, he did not rape anybody, is it now?”
The woman said she had deliberately taken time to understand the circumstances surrounding the case before speaking publicly.
She stressed that, regardless of the outcome, she would continue to support her husband.
“I am trying to follow the matter the right way; I have not been silent. I want to let you people know that no matter what happened, he is my husband and I stand with him 100%. I’m not going to turn my back on him,” she said.
She also urged the public to distinguish between claims circulating online and evidence that could be presented before a court.
“How I feel, what I feel, how I see it is my personal decision. Everything is not actually the way they presented it. Before I could come out to talk, I have learnt a lot about this matter. Social media is not a courtroom. You people should bear that in mind,” she said.
The woman acknowledged the seriousness of the case, particularly because of Favour’s death.
She said this was one of the reasons she had chosen to be measured in her public comments.
“Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. But Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody,” she said.
She added that Ogbonna would have an opportunity to give his own version of events when he returns.
The woman also disclosed that she and Ogbonna have been married for eight years and have four children.
The police said Favour travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, following an alleged offer from Ogbonna to train her in content creation and help her monetise her TikTok and Facebook accounts.
The command said she returned home distressed and told her parents about the alleged encounter. She also reportedly made a video detailing what she claimed had happened.
Favour was said to have later taken a toxic substance in an apparent suicide attempt and eventually died despite efforts to save her.
The police said her family’s petition led to Ogbonna’s arrest, adding that investigations were still ongoing.
The command subsequently indicated that the content creator would be prosecuted.
Ogbonna has not been convicted of any offence, and the allegations against him remain subject to investigation and determination by the relevant authorities.
