‘Hundred promises, not one fulfilled’ — Bella breaks silence on break up with Sheggz

Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

BBNaija star, Bella Okagbue, has broken her silence over the controversy surrounding her breakup with former boyfriend Sheggz, saying she eventually stopped believing promises and began paying attention to patterns.

Bella addressed the issue in a statement shared on her social media page, explaining that she had remained silent because she believed some parts of their relationship should stay private.

She said she genuinely loved Sheggz and defended their relationship because she believed in it, adding that she gave him another chance because she believed people could change.

However, Bella said believing someone could change did not mean she had to wait indefinitely for that change.

“The person everyone experiences publicly isn’t always the person you experience privately,” she wrote.

The reality star also addressed discussions about marriage and the ring Sheggz previously said he bought for her.

“A ring doesn’t fix what made a relationship impossible,” Bella said.

Bella further challenged some versions of events about their relationship that have emerged online, saying they did not reflect her own experience.

She added that there were other parts of her experience she had deliberately kept private and would speak about when she felt ready.

“A hundred promises. Not one fulfilled,” she wrote, adding that she eventually stopped listening to promises and started paying attention to patterns.

Bella said she had given the relationship love, loyalty and another chance, but reached a point where trust, respect and peace could no longer exist alongside that loyalty.

She said she did not regret trying again but had now decided to put herself first and walk away.

“So today, I choose myself. I choose differently, regardless of what comes with it,” she wrote.
