The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, vice-presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, says he knew that he and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would lose the election even before the results were announced.
Okowa made the disclosure at a recent event held in his home state, Delta.
The former Delta State governor said his assessment of the political situation was so clear that he had already told Christian leaders about the likely outcome of the election before Nigerians went to the polls.
“I knew we would not win the election. And even when I met with the Christian leaders, I told them that APC will win, while PDP will come second and then Labour Party will come third,” he said.
DAILY POST recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the polls, while Atiku came second and Peter Obi of the Labour Party finished third.
