‘I will do DNA test before accepting any child’ – Singer Mayorkun

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Nigerian singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has revealed that he will conduct a DNA test before accepting any child as his own.

Speaking in a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, the ‘Body Cheche’ crooner disclosed that he had already told his girlfriend about his intention to sign a prenuptial agreement before their wedding and conduct a DNA test whenever she gives birth.

Mayorkun said his girlfriend was not happy about it, but he would carry on with the plan regardless.

“I told my girlfriend we’d have to do a prenup and DNA test when she gives me a child, just to be sure. She got upset.

“I have thought of doing the DNA test without telling her. If it is my child, no issues. If not, everybody will hear about it,” he said.

DNA testing is becoming increasingly popular in Nigeria, with some experts advocating for it due to the increasing cases of paternity fraud in the country.

Some celebrities have also come out to advise Nigerian men to conduct DNA tests to establish the paternity of their children before shouldering the responsibility.
