ICPC uncovers another fake agency in SGF office, as Tinubu suspends 3 Permanent Secretaries

THE Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC on Friday said iit has uncovered another fraudulent agency domiciled in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF

ICPC gave the name of the fake agency as National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office promoted by one Prince George Buchi Nwabueze.

Consequently, President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries with immediate effect.

Chairman of the ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents on Friday at the presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to him: “In relation to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and procedural weaknesses in the public service, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has uncovered another fake agency/office operating under the name: National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, which had been illegally allocated office space within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“The Promoter Geroge Buchi Nwabueze was discovered to also operate under four other variations of his name: George Nathan, George Nathan Nwabueze, Hon. George Buchi Nwabueze, Prince Geroge Buchi Nwabueze and George Nwabueze.

“The ICPC has interacted with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation with a view to ascertaining vital information with regard to the fake agency/office under investigation.

“I have briefed Mr. President comprehensively on these new developments/findings”

“Accordingly, Mr. President has directed as follows: The immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze.. The immediate suspension of the following Permanent Secretaries: M.S Danjuma, Engr Nadungu Gagare, Richard P. Pheelangwah.”

Aliyu said: “The ICPC has engaged with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to gather vital information regarding these authorized offices. The investigation into these fraudulent activities remains active under the direction of the President”
