Nollywood actor Tayo Faniran has opened up about his journey in the Nigerian movie industry, alleging that success in Nollywood is not always determined by talent alone.
Speaking during an interview on TVC’s eSplash, Faniran claimed that some of the industry’s most prominent producers are not necessarily the most talented individuals in the profession.
According to the actor, public perception often differs from the reality within the industry.
“In Nollywood, the film producers you guys see and know as the biggest are not the most talented film producers,” he said.
Faniran further stated that he believes his career would have progressed much further if opportunities in the industry were based solely on merit and talent.
“If Nollywood were strictly about talent, I should be far beyond where I am. There is a lot of rigging in the industry,” he added.
