Ambassador Shakirullahi Jimoh Oran’kan has been confirmed as the ACCORD Party’s Senatorial Candidate for Oyo Central District, following his appearance on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal.

Oran’kan secured the ticket after defeating his opponent in a fiercely contested primary election held on June 28, 2026.

In a statement released by the Oran’kan Media Team in Ibadan, Sheikh Ibrahim Alamo-li-Yekeen Agboluaje and Engineer Ismaheel Ajadi, both members of the Board of Trustees of the ICF, described the victory as “a remarkable stepping stone” toward his ambition of representing Oyo Central in the Senate.

“Ambassador Shakirullahi Jimoh Oran’kan has achieved a well-deserved victory, after receiving massive support from party members against his opponent,” the statement read. “His upload on the INEC portal reflects the popular wishes of the people and signals a strong path to victory in the forthcoming general election.”

Dr. Lawrence Ajibola, a chieftain of ACCORD from Egbeda Local Government, urged members to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the campaign season. He stressed that the party remains resolute in its mission to secure Oyo Central for ACCORD and Oyo State for its governorship candidate, Alhaji (Dr) Oriyomi Hamzat.

Supporters highlighted Oran’kan’s track record of service to humanity, inclusive blueprint, and vision for economic development as factors that have endeared him to the electorate. They described his candidacy as “a victory in waiting.”

The party further called on residents of Oyo State to rally behind all ACCORD candidates—from the governorship to the House of Assembly—promising unprecedented development, peace, and welfare for the people.
