Insecurity: Joint security forces comb forests, bushes in Ibusa, profile forest settlement

A joint security operation in Delta State comprising the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police and local vigilante groups have conducted a show of force in forests and bushes in the Ibusa area of the state.

The show was aimed at enhancing security and reassuring residents of the area of their preparedness to tackle issues of security.

The operation DAILY POST gathered covered strategic locations across the community, particularly forest areas and isolated farm roads believed to be vulnerable to criminal activities.

The security convoy moved through the forests along Zion Road via Okponta, extending behind St. Thomas Boys Grammar School and traversing several thick bush paths and remote farm roads within Ibusa.

During the operation, security personnel visited several locations suspected to serve as hideouts for criminal elements. Although no suspects were found in some of the previously identified camps, a building believed to be a potential kidnappers’ hideout was discovered.

The command’s spokesperson told journalists that: “The structure was identified, documented, and marked for demolition by the appropriate authorities.
