United States President Donald Trump has denied reports that the country is facing a shortage of munitions after months of military operations involving Iran, insisting that America’s weapons stockpiles remain strong.
In a statement posted on Truth Social on Thursday, Trump said the United States has “massive amounts” of munitions and that fresh supplies are continuously being manufactured and delivered.
“The U.S. has massive amounts of ‘munitions,’ especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He also said American defence companies are expanding production, claiming they are building the largest number of plants and factories in the nation’s history.
Trump, however, warned that those responsible for leaking what he described as false and “treasonous” information about the country’s weapons stockpiles would face severe consequences.
“The ‘leakers’ of these treasonous statements are being hunted down. Long-term jail sentences will be sought!” he said.
US President’s remarks came in response to media reports alleging that US stockpiles of some critical munitions had been significantly depleted following months of military operations linked to the conflict with Iran.
