The Kebbi State House of Assembly on Wednesday swore in Rabiu Garba Aiki Bedi as the member representing Zuru State Constituency following his victory in the recent by-election.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Abdulwasiyu Uthman Haruna.

The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by the Speaker of the House, Salihu Maikasuwa Dangoje, at the Assembly Complex in Birnin Kebbi.

Aiki Bedi emerged victorious in the by-election held on June 20, 2026, which was conducted to fill the vacant seat following the death of the immediate past Speaker of the Assembly and former member representing Zuru State Constituency, Usman Muhammad Ankwai.

Speaking during the inauguration, Dangoje congratulated the newly sworn-in lawmaker and urged him to discharge his legislative responsibilities with integrity, dedication, and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

The Speaker also reaffirmed the commitment of the 10th Kebbi State House of Assembly to enacting people-oriented legislation and providing effective oversight in the interest of the state.
