The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, on Tuesday sought enhanced peace, security in Nigeria, praying for and progress in the country
He spoke during a visit to the Olota of Ota, Oba Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege, ahead of the August Edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) in Ota
Kumuyi, who is the Convener of the GCK, also sought the support of the traditional ruler and prepared the community for the commencement of the five -day global crusade in the area
“Our desire for our country and the desire of everyone, every citizen is peace, security, progress in our land
“We are praying, and He knows how to answer that prayer and how to give us all the security we need in the land,” the renowned cleric said.
Kumuyi was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Esther Kumuyi, South-West Regional Coordinator, Pastor Ayo Afolabi, state and regional pastors, and representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
He said Ogun was chosen at the right time for God’s visitation.
He said the crusade, titled “Total Transformation Through Christ” and scheduled to begin on Wednesday at Anglican Grammar School, Ota, was designed to bring transformation, peace and progress to Ota, Ogun and Nigeria.
According to him, the GCK, which began five years ago, has been held in several states across Nigeria and countries in Africa, Asia and other parts of the world, touching many lives.
He said the crusades had produced testimonies of people whose lives and families had been transformed, while the ministry had also provided free medical services through teams of doctors, nurses and other specialists.
“Choosing Ogun State is because the Lord laid it on our heart that this is the time for Ogun State,” Kumuyi said.
He disclosed that humanitarian services and free medical services always preceded the programme in each location through GCK Medical Missions.
The cleric said that GCK medical outreach provided free surgeries and treatments for people of various communities.
He said that the initiative was part of the ministry’s efforts to address both spiritual and physical needs of people wherever the crusade was held.
Obalanlege, welcomed Kumuyi and his delegation, expressing optimism that the crusade would transform lives and contribute to peace in Ota and Aworiland.
“I believe the Lord is with us here in Ota land, and I believe a lot of lives will be transformed. When lives are transformed, it means Ota will become more peaceful,” the traditional ruler said.
Also speaking, the Ogun West State Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Joseph Fasanmi, described Kumuyi’s visit to the palace as a historic moment.
He expressed hope that the total transformation would happen in the land as a result of the crusade.
Fasanmi said the visit was an indication that Ota was set for divine blessings, while commending the king and some other traditional rulers in area for support for Christian activities in the community.
He prayed for continued peace and progress in Ota and Ogun West, saying the crusade would provide an opportunity for people to experience spiritual renewal.
The All Believers’ Conference, themed “Perfect Deliverance in a Shifting World,” will hold on Aug. 27 and Aug. 28 at 7:30 a.m. daily at Christian Pentecostal Mission, Ota.
The conference is designed to strengthen believers for victorious Christian living in an increasingly complex world.
NAN also reports that the Impact Academy for Youths, themed “Transformed to Break Limits,” will hold at 7:30 a.m. at the crusade venue on Aug. 29.
The programme is designed to strengthen and equip young people, with the organisers stressing that the future of every nation depends largely on the quality of values instilled in its youth.
GCK has been held in different parts of Nigeria, including Rivers, Abuja, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Oyo, Ondo, Kaduna, Sokoto and Benue states.
The crusade has also been held in several countries across Africa and Asia.
