Kwara PDP picks Kale Kawu as 2027 guber flag bearer

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State, has picked Engr Kale Kawu as its governorship candidate for the 2027 elections in the state.

DAILY POST reports that the announcement is coming ahead of the party’s governorship primary election on Sunday where the consensus agreement would be sealed by the party.

The announcement on Saturday, through the former Governor Bukola Saraki is coming barely hours after the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Engr Yakubu Danladi Salihu, emerged as the state APC flag bearer.

Dr Saraki said, “I am pleased to announce that, after extensive consultations with stakeholders of the Kwara PDP and our leading gubernatorial aspirants, we have arrived at a consensus candidate to fly the flag of our great party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.”

The former Senate President extended his heartfelt appreciation to the other aspirants who, in the supreme interest of our party and state, have graciously stepped down to support this consensus.

” It is this spirit of unity and selflessness that will carry us to victory,” he added.

Dr Saraki wished all members, delegates, and teeming supporters of the party a successful, peaceful, and orderly outing at the gubernatorial primaries.
