Owo/Ose APC Primary: Arobo rejects result, alleges subversion of voters’ will

—-Claims landslide victory

By Dayo Johnson Akure

An aspirant for the Owo/Ose House of Representatives seat, in Ondo state, Ghani Rotimi Arobo, has rejected the outcome of last Saturday’s APC primary, describing it as an attempt to subvert the will of the people.

In a statement, the Director-General of the Ghani Rotimi Arobo Campaign Organisation, Hon. Ayo Ilevare, said the announced results were a “sham deliberately cooked up to subvert the sovereign will of the people.”

“We reject it in its entirety. This is not democracy but an assault on the democratic process,” Ilevare said.

He said the outcome contradicted the will of party members on the ground, despite efforts by the APC national secretariat to promote internal democracy.

“To be clear, we had agents across all polling and voting centres. We recorded a landslide, unquestionable victory.

The people of Owo/Ose spoke with one voice for renewed hope, genuine representation, and the liberation of our constituency from the current state of helplessness,” he said.

Ilevare accused unnamed persons of manipulating results and engaging in backroom deals to impose an outcome.

He warned that such actions were unlawful, unethical, and undermined democracy.

“No amount of manipulation, result falsification, or backroom deals will be allowed to truncate or annul that sacred mandate,” he said.

He said the campaign would pursue lawful means to address every questionable vote, altered result sheet, and act that compromised the integrity of the process.

Ilevare urged supporters to remain calm but resolute, saying the mandate they gave belonged to them and would be defended.

“This is not the end — it is the beginning of a greater awakening. The renewed hope we represent cannot be destroyed by the machinations of a few political undertakers,” he said.

He added that the campaign was encouraged by the solidarity shown across the constituency and saluted supporters who came out to vote despite intimidation.

“The people are awake. The people will prevail,” Ilevare said.
