Lagos 2027: ‘APC not comfortable but defeating party won’t be easy’ – NDC’s Funsho Doherty

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, governorship candidate in Lagos State, Funsho Doherty, on Friday, insisted that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is not comfortable going into the 2027 election.

However, Doherty said it would not be easy to defeat the APC in Lagos State as an incumbent party.

Featuring on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Doherty noted that the APC lost in Lagos State in the 2023 presidential election.

“APC was defeated in 2023, if you go and look at the presidential election, APC lost, not theory, not rhetoric.

“If you go to the INEC and ask for the election result in Lagos for 2023, you will see that APC lost; so we are not talking about something from outer space.

“It’s possible that it has happened before and we will also retain the governorship election which we don’t believe will exist this time. Look at the actions of the APC itself, they are not that of one that is comfortable,” Doherty said.

Asked if it’s going to be easy to beat an incumbent party in 2023, Doherty said: “I didn’t say that it will be easy.”
