Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has named club icon Cristiano Ronaldo, alongside Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo Nazário, as the players he would recruit again if given the opportunity.
All three are Los Blancos icons, with Ronaldo standing as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 450 goals and securing four of his five Ballon d’Or accolades during his tenure at the club.
Ronaldo Nazário claimed his second Ballon d’Or award while representing Los Blancos, where he captured two La Liga championships, whereas Zidane, also a Ballon d’Or recipient, achieved numerous prestigious titles both during his playing career and managerial tenure.
Mbappe, who joined Santiago Bernabéu three years ago as a free agent, has demonstrated an exceptional beginning to his Real Madrid career, nearing 100 goals in his third campaign.
When questioned regarding which former players he would recruit for Los Blancos, the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion communicated to Diario AS, according to Madrid Xtra, “Which player would I resign for Real Madrid? Cristiano, Zidane, or Ronaldo, if they could return. … Cristiano would come back. Zizou still participates occasionally. And Ronaldo … excellence never diminishes. They represent Real Madrid legends. They contributed significantly and continue to generate tremendous enthusiasm among the Madrid supporters.”
Kylian Mbappe achieved 86 goals across his initial two seasons at the Santiago Bernabéu, earning consecutive Pichichi honors despite Los Blancos finishing behind Barcelona in the La Liga standings on both occasions.
