LaLiga table: Real Madrid six points behind Barcelona after defeat to Atletico

Daily Post 18 minutes 1 mins read

Real Madrid are now six points behind LaLiga leaders Barcelona following a 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Sunday evening.

Jose Mourinho’s men came into the Derby looking to keep pace with Barca, who had beaten Sevilla a day before.

But the match at the Wanda Metropolitano took a big turn after Dean Huijsen was shown a straight red card.

Alejandro Grimaldo put Ateltico in front from the penalty that was awarded after the sending off.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 59th minute through Jonathan David, before Anthony Rudiger headed in a late consolation.

Real are now in third place with 15 points, one behind Atletico after seven rounds of fixtures.
