LaLiga: Tension in Real Madrid dressing room despite Mourinho’s appointment

Daily Post about 6 hours 1 mins read

There is still tension within Real Madrid’s dressing room despite Jose Mourinho’s appointment, according to RMC Sport.

Mourinho returned to the Bernabeu for a second stint this summer.

The Portuguese coach was brought back to instill stability within the squad.

But instead, the atmosphere remains “ice-cold” among the players.

It is understood that several players don’t get along, and Mourinho has been unable to resolve the problems that existed under Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa.

The situation had escalated into a physical confrontation between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde last season.

Kylian Mbappé’s recent off-field behaviour has added further tension, with Mourinho speaking privately to the Frenchman and asking him to be more discreet.

The dressing room atmosphere remains deeply concerning ahead of a crucial month for Real Madrid.
