LaLiga: Why I substituted Mbappe during Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Betis – Arbeloa

Daily Post 18 days 1 mins read

Real Madrid manager, Alvaro Arbeloa, has explained why he substituted forward Kylian Mbappe during his side’s LaLiga 1-1 draw with Real Betis on Friday.

Arbeloa brought the France captain out and replaced him with Gonzalo García in the 82nd minute of the encounter when Real Madrid was still leading 1-0.

However, a late goal from Héctor Bellerín ensured both teams got a point each.

Vinicius Junior had given the Los Blancos a 1-0 lead in the first half.

Speaking about Mbappe at his post-match interview, Arbeloa said the attacker had some discomfort during the encounter at Real Betis.

“I don’t know. He had some discomfort, and we will see how he progresses in the coming days,” Arbeloa said.

Real Madrid will now take on Espanyol in their next game.
